Jinan is in the transition belt of the southern part of Taiyi hilly land and the northern part of Huabei Plain. The plain and the water area can occupy 43 percent. The Yellow River flows from the Northwest to the Southeast. It is the semi-humid climate in warm temperate zone. The average annual temperature is 14 degree Celsius, and the average annual precipitation is 685mm. The black frost period can last 216 days. The agriculture resources are abundant. The mineral resources are abundant too. There are iron, copper, coal, limestone etc.

Amongst its major industries, there are machinary, metallurgy, petroleum processing, electric power, textile, chemical, electrical, food and light industry. Especially, the product of the meticulous chemical industry, the transportation equipment, fluorite and cigarette is in the important in China. In agriculture, there is wheat, corn, peanut, bast-fiber plants and tobacco. Jinan is the national base of commodity grain. The roses and e jiao in Ping Yin are very famous.

Jinan is a famous ancient city in Chinese history. There are so many places of interest. Such as the Qianfuo Mountain, which is the sacred place of Buddhism. Liubu is a picturesque scenery. And there are some Buddhism towers. Also there is Lingyan Temple, Chengzi-ai cultural relics and so on. Jinan is also called ¨Spring City." Some people say there are 72 springs in Jinan, with Baotu Spring being the most famous one. The traditional specialties are embroidery, feather patchwork, Chinese sorghum candy, carpet, braised chicken and dough figurine.
