Taipei County Launches Promotion at Tourism Expo

The annual Taipei International Tourism Expo opens Friday in Taipei, Taiwan. Tourism authorities from Taipei county comprise over 600 of the 1,150 exhibition booths. They are carrying out this years promotion campaign for local tourism in an unprecedented big way, China News Services reports in Taipei.

Located in northern Taiwan, Taipei County boasts a vast coastline, hot springs and famous tea. Prior to the Taipei Tourism Expo, they hosted the Taipei County Cultural Tourism Week in Shanghai which was popular among potential mainland tourists.

According to local media, Taipei countys promotion at the expo will focus on its festival customs at several popular tourist destinations, such as the heavenly lamps in Pingxi and Pinglin tea.

Ahead of the coming of winter, Taipei county will also introduce its rich hot spring resources and abundant museums and art galleries, which will make for excellent winter tours that are both relaxing and enlightening.

A new travel route called the Crown Coast Tour will be introduced to tourists as well. The route, covering most of the famous towns and the most popular scenic spots along the coastline in Taipei county, is an excellent choice for travelers who love the sea and seaside snacks.

The expo will last four days. For the first time, it will include exhibition space for cross-strait tourism, bringing in more than 500 people from the mainland tourism sector.
