Five Malaysians Injured in S. Thailand Bombings

Five Malaysians suffered minor injures when series bombings hit Hat Yai city in southern Thailand Saturday night, the Bernama news agency reported Sunday.

A Malaysian Consul-General Office official in the Thai province of Songkhla Sunday told Bernama that the five people sought outpatient treatment at a local hospital for minor injuries.

"Nothing serious, just some minor injuries. So far, we dont have other reports of injured Malaysians," said the officer.

According to Thai provincial administration, the series bombings have killed four persons and injured more than 70 others.

Hundreds of Malaysian visitors had left for home early Sunday following the bombings, said the report.

The last time Hat Yai was hit by explosion was on April 3, 2005 at its international airport, leaving one person dead and some injured.
