Guizhou: Building Up "Ethnic Culture Corridor"

Southwest Chinas Guizhou province is striving to build up an "ethnic culture corridor" in its remote countryside villages.

Unique ethnic cultures of the many ethnic minority groups in Guizhous deep mountains are the main features in the provinces process of developing "county tours."

Folk dance, music, ceremonies, choruses, wine parties craftsmanship and traditional festivals in different villages and of different ethnic minority groups are linking up together, forming an "ethnic culture corridor."

According to the Guizhou provincial tourism bureaus developing plan, the province will choose 150 to 200 villages to build them into "characteristic destinations" under the principles of "protection and utilization."
