The recommended tours fall into four categories. The first category is "appreciating autumn." Signifying those destinations with outstanding autumn hues thanks to their colorful flora, this group includes Mulan Paddock near the famous Chengde Resort and the Taihang Mountain area to the west of Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei Province, where the "Red Leaves Festival" will be held in October.
The second category underscores the "harvest in autumn." Tourists are recommended to pick up some fresh grapes and taste local wines at the vineyards near Qinhuangdao and Zhangjiakou. Or they can go to Leting Tri-Island of Tangshan to enjoy some fishing, while a trip to the orchards in Cangzhou would also be fruitful.
The third category, "tasting autumn," includes a gourmet tour of the Mongolian-style Zhangbei Grassland, where tourists can feast on mutton and milk tea as they get a taste of Mongolian dance. As for seafood lovers, Tangshan is the ultimate autumn getaway.
Last but not the least, a celebration for the Mid-autumn Festival will be held from October 6th to 7th in Langfang at Grand Epoch City, a model of Beijing as it was hundreds of years ago. Visitors will be able to enjoy royal food and moon cakes as well as shows that used to be performed only for the imperial family.
